Silversmithing – This beginners class primarily involves forming silver wire and sheet silver into rings, pendants, and other items. Materials may also include gold, copper, or brass.

These metals are very malleable and can be easily sawed, cut, bent, twisted, or soldered into patterns used in jewelry such as earrings, rings, or pendants. Classes usually involve 6 to 8 sessions of three hours each, usually one a week. This are is one of the basics of jewelry making.

Silversmithing Beyond The Basics – Additional and more advanced ways to work with silver. This may include repousse, keum boo, and reticulating.

Advanced Silversmithing – Other techniques explored here include patinas, tube settings, and hinges.

Filigree – Scroll work and lace work in silver. Learn to prepare the wire as well as create fine jewelry pieces.

Silver Casting – the art of casting silver by the Lost Wax Method. Learn on a one-on-one basis, for over two consecutive days. Centrifugal or vacuum casting is taught depending on the instructor.

Cuttlebone Casting – Silver casting using Cuttlebone as a mold surface for your silver jewelry.  $40.00 for members and $70.00 for non-members.

Straw and Other Types of Casting – This is casting silver with other media besides cuttle bone and lost wax. It may include straw, beans or other materials.
