Chain Making

Chain Making

Chain Making uses wire to make a variety of chain patterns. In this class we teach simple chain, parallel or Helm chain, byzantine, and whatever else you want to learn. Chain Maille is another term used for this craft.  Chains are made from scratch using silver and copper wire. Though gold is often used for chains, it is not used in this class because of the cost. Soldering is taught with paste solder. Some, but not all, patterns are soldered.

Examples are shown below.

Chain Gang – People interested in a quiet environment to do silversmithing at the shop may come together to share ideas. This is not a class so experience is necessary in whatever project you are working on.
